According to the regulations on the administration of medical institutions (Decree No. 149) issued by the State Council on February 26, 1994 and the detailed rules for the implementation of the regulations on the administration of medical institutions (Decree No. 35) issued by the Ministry of health on August 29, 1994, there are 12 categories of medical institutions, and sanatoriums belong to category 4. Therefore, strictly speaking, sanatoriums should belong to medical institutions rather than hospitals. There is a difference between them. The hospital is a socialist health institution that prevents and treats diseases and ensures people's health. The service objects of the hospital are patients and special social groups. Through the application of medical science and technology as the main means of service, medical personnel diagnose, treat, care for patients and provide comprehensive services for patients. The sanatorium is based on the use of convalescent factors. Under the specified living system, it is a medical institution set up in the sanatorium (area) for strengthening the system, disease convalescence, rehabilitation convalescence and health convalescence.
